Patterned Tile Is Back — And Better Than Ever
If you’ve been to the Parade of Homes this year, you know one thing for sure: patterned tile is having a major moment. And honestly? We’re here for it.
Gone are the days when tile was purely functional. Today, it’s a statement-maker — a way to add personality, story, and texture to a space without needing an entire remodel. Think bold Moroccan-inspired prints, soft encaustic patterns, or geometric designs that feel both modern and timeless.

Why We’re Loving the Comeback
Patterned tile isn’t just a design choice — it’s a mood-setter. It adds dimension in a way solid tile simply can’t. Whether it’s the floor of a laundry room that makes folding clothes slightly more enjoyable, or a kitchen backsplash that turns cooking into a creative escape, patterned tile gives spaces a sense of art and intention.
This year’s Parade of Homes showcased patterned tile in unexpected places — not just bathrooms and kitchens, but also mudrooms, patios, and even stair risers. The best part? The designs felt fresh and elevated, not busy or overwhelming.
Trending Patterns & Colors Right Now
The patterned tile revival in 2025 is leaning into a softer, more curated feel than years past. The vibe is intentional statement, not loud for the sake of loud.
Moroccan & Mediterranean Motifs – Symmetrical, hand-painted looks in subtle tones that add warmth and texture without overwhelming the eye.
Organic Florals – Delicate blooms and soft botanical shapes bring a romantic, Old-World charm that works beautifully in bathrooms and powder rooms.
Geometric Minimalism – Triangles, hexagons, and linework patterns that feel crisp and modern, often in black-and-white or earthy neutrals.
As for color, we’re seeing:
Softer Neutrals – Warm whites, creams, and beiges for a timeless backdrop.
Dusty Blues & Sage Greens – Nature-inspired tones that add calm and freshness.
Terracotta & Clay – Earthy, sun-baked hues that feel cozy and grounded.
Where to Use It
Laundry Rooms – A boost of style where you least expect it.
Powder Rooms – Small space, big personality.
Kitchen Backsplashes – Instant wow factor.
Entryways – A first impression that lasts.
Fireplace Surrounds – Cozy meets chic.
Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

The key is balance. Patterned tile shines brightest when paired with neutral surroundings, letting the design be the star without competing with everything else in the room.
Our Take
Patterned tile is proof that design trends can come full circle — but when they return, they bring a fresh twist. In 2025, it’s less about overwhelming patterns and more about thoughtful placement, softer palettes, and mixing traditional motifs with modern layouts. I am currently working on a very exciting project that highlights this beautiful tile in the primary bath… I love it so much I may just have to sleep in the bathroom.
